Based on the Ampere architecture and designed to handle the graphical demands of 4K gaming and high frame rates, the ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 12GB TUF Gaming OC Graphics Card brings the power of real-time ray tracing and AI to your PC games. The GPU features 12GB of GDDR6X VRAM and a 384-bit memory interface, offering improved performance and power efficiency over the previous Turing-based generation.
Axial-Tech Fans
This card features a triple Axial-tech fan design. The fans have dual ball fan bearings to ensure consistent performance and increased longevity. The center and auxiliary fans rotate in opposite directions to reduce air turbulence. The fans also shut off completely when the card's power consumption is low and the GPU temperature falls beneath 50°C, keeping noise levels down when the system isn't under load.
MAXCONTACT
To get heat into the heatsink array efficiently, so that it can be blown away by the powerful Axial-tech fans, ASUS uses a manufacturing process that improves the surface smoothness of the heat spreader at the microscopic level. The extra flatness allows for better contact with the die, which enhances thermal transfer.
2.7-Slot Design
The heat spreader draws heat up into heat pipes that carry it through a fin stack that fills most of the card's large, 2.7-slot footprint. This generation of TUF Gaming graphics cards also feature a dedicated heatsink for VRAM to keep temperatures well under maximum operating specs. With a larger design, it's important to make sure that your case has enough space for this card to fit as well as adequate airflow.
Backplate
Most of the rear is covered with a protective metal backplate that has a wide vent. The vent allows hot air to escape towards case's exhaust fans instead of being recycled back into the cooler. Beneath the GPU, a bracket provides consistent mounting pressure between the die and heat spreader. Stainless steel is used for the I/O bracket to protect ports and provide a more secure mount. A conveniently placed Dual Bios switch allows customization of the card's default performance profile without software.
Customizable RGB Logo
The top-side RGB logo can be customized to display a range of aesthetic and functional effects. You can also sync it with other ASUS components to enable uniform lighting. To match the power demands of the GeForce RTX 3080, two 8-pin connectors are present, along with onboard LEDs that light up if PSU PCIe power connectors are not plugged in correctly.
GPU TWEAK II
The ASUS GPU Tweak II utility takes graphics card tuning to the next level. It allows you to tweak critical parameters, including GPU core clocks, memory frequency, and voltage settings. You can also monitor everything in real-time through a customizable on-screen display. Advanced fan control is also included along with many more features to help you get the most out of your graphics card.
NVIDIA Ampere Architecture
NVIDIA Ampere is the 2nd generation RTX architecture. It features up to twice the FP32 throughput, 2nd Gen RT Core throughput, and 3rd Gen Tensor Core throughput of the previous generation. It also features a Samsung 8N custom process and utilizes GDDR6X VRAM. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX platform enables real-time ray tracing of objects and environments with physically accurate shadows, reflections, refractions, and global illumination. NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) is AI rendering that boosts frame rates while still providing optimal image quality using the dedicated AI processing Tensor Cores on the GeForce RTX platform. This gives you the performance you need to maximize ray tracing settings and resolutions for an immersive visual experience.
