Powered exclusively by 10th Generation Intel Core processors, the Republic of Gamers Strix Z490-E Gaming LGA 1200 ATX Motherboard from ASUS features enhanced power delivery and an optimized cooling design with a larger surface area for improved heat dissipation. It also delivers AI enhancements and intuitive dashboards to help users overclock and tweak other various parameters more easily. The ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming fits in ATX-sized cases, supports the LGA 1200 socket and Intel Z4900 chipset, and is compatible with Windows.

The ATX form factor of the ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming supports up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM across four slots, or 32GB per slot, at speeds up to 4600 MHz. For storage, there are six SATA III 6 Gb/s ports and two M.2 Sockets with M key, one of which supports PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA SSDs in types 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110, while the other supports PCIe 3.0 x4 SSDs in types 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110.

There is also one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port (rear panel), three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports (rear panel), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (rear panel), four USB 2.0 Type-A ports (rear panel), one USB 3.2 Gen 2 connector (front panel), plus additional internal USB headers that support USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0.
